Happy Birthday America

We spent 4th of July just like any other American family! Barbecuing with family, kids dressed in red, white and blue and lots of food!!!

We went over to my in-laws during the day to barbecue sausages and hot dogs.  The kids got to swim and enjoyed their 4th of July cupcakes.  Our little party wasn't the same though without the Polks.  Usually we all gather at my in-laws and have a huge barbecue with the whole family.  My brother and sister-in-law moved to Florida in June. We miss them and Rylie sure misses Sydney and Sam.

That night we barbecued just the four us. We made ribs, pasta salad, beans and of coarse cupcakes!  While having lots of fun and eating, I made sure to teach Rylie why we are celebrating and the importance of honoring our freedom and those who risk and gave their lives to protect our country.

Happy Birthday America!!! Thank you to all those you serve our country, their families that miss them while they are away and to the ones who gave their lives, you won't be forgotten.
