Ready Baby?

Well physically (37 weeks, 2 days), I am ready to have my baby boy and say adios to pregnancy.  However, the house is not baby ready, in fact I just started washing baby stuff tonight!
We are planning on setting up his bed for our room this weekend and finish getting ready for his arrival.
My doctor is on vacation this week lobster fishing in the Caribbean, so I was told to be "good" and not try to deliver while he was gone.  I have an appointment next Thursday afternoon, and the plan is if my "lady parts" are favorable, he will try to induce labor in hopes I will deliver by the end of the weekend.  So I am crossing my fingers that my "lady parts" and baby boy cooperate so we will be meeting our little one next week!!

Our "Baby Fitzgerald Lottery" is still underway to guess when our boy will arrive.  The winner has a chance to win up to $210, for only $5 a square!!! Please let me know if you are interested in picking a square or squares, and I will get you down on the board for a chance to win!!!

(You can click on the board to enlarge it to help see the squares!)

I got a very cute gift today at work(yep I'm still working!) from my friend Stephanie. Check out these cute little shoes and socks. I can't wait to put them on my baby boy!

Also, I have a bunch of formula coupons that I want to give away before they expire.  I have coupons for Enfamil, Similac and Good Start formulas for use at Target and Babies R US/Toys R US.  Please let me know if anyone wants them, I hate to see coupons go to waste!

So that's the latest on the "baby watch,"  we are getting very excited to meet our baby!!!!

Annoyed Mama

Our poor Liam has not been feeling well since yesterday morning, he started with diarrhea then vomiting.  Poor baby can't catch a break, luckily though he isn't running a fever.  We've done pedialyte, water, bland food, rest, etc. trying to make him feel better. He is just miserable.  Now I know two days of the stomach bug isn't the worst thing, but when your child is vomiting even water, it makes you worried.

I was up with him most of the night trying to keep him comfortable.  The first thing this morning, his first drinks stayed in about 5 minutes, before his stomach contents covered both of us and the bed.  I decided that nothing we were trying was working, and it was time to call the pediatrician's office.

I got transferred to a medical assistant that asked how old he was, when did the symptoms start, and "What was I doing for him at home, and was I doing anything for him?"  This struck a nerve with this protective mama.  The sarcastic, exhausted and hormonal mama inside me wanted to say, "No, I haven't done one thing to try to make my son feel better, I've only been a mom for just over 5 years and I typically watch my sick children suffer and do nothing to comfort them and make them feel better!" (However, I took a deep breath, and kept my what I wanted to say comment to myself)  Really, did this lacking common sense person on the other end of the phone think I would do nothing for my child?  I was calling because I had tried all possible options trying to help him, and he was getting worse.  I know they screen to see if the children really need to be seen right away, but it's not all about seeing the happy, well children.  If they are going to have an issue seeing sick kids when they are actually sick, then what's the point of having a personal physician?

That's my beef for today, Liam does have an appointment this afternoon.  Hopefully our boy gets to feeling better!!

Baby Fitzgerald Lottery

With this being our last pregnancy, I wanted to do something fun with our family and friends to guess when our baby boy would here!  I borrowed the idea from my friend Katy that lives in Phoenix, she had a lottery board, and it made it fun as she got closer to delivery, crossing our fingers that she would deliver on the time square we had picked.
~You can click on the board itself to enlarge the board to see the square times

First off you aren't picking the calender date that you think he will be born.  You are picking A DAY of the week (example: Sunday-Saturday).  My original due date was May 7th, which is a Monday, but they have moved it back and forth between that and May 15th (which is a Tuesday).  The second thing you pick is the time of the day.  The times are listed across the top in military time. The board starts at 12:01 am, with each square being two hour blocks that ends at midnight.

Each square is $5 a square, with all the squares getting filled, the winner will split the pot($420) with baby Fitzgerald!!! Please let us know if you are interested in playing and which square you wanna place your bet on!!!  I will keep updated pictures of the board as we fill it up, good luck!!

Just a hint: I had Rylie on a Saturday morning at 6:26 am and Liam at 1:53 am on a Wednesday morning.  We have no idea when baby Fitzgerald will arrive or plans for an exact delivery day/time!!

Baby Update: 35 weeks, 2 days

*34 weeks, 5days pregnant~ 4/7/12 ~I'm not sure my belly can stretch any bigger
Today marks 35 weeks and 2 days pregnant for our growing boy, and as my husband tells me, "we're in the home stretch!"  I am getting very excited for the arrival of our third child; however, we don't have baby stuff ready for him yet and we would like him to be in there as long as possible to grow.  Once I hit 38 weeks though, all bets are off and I will be ready to have him out!!!!  It's getting harder to sleep, I am up more in the middle of the night and it takes longer to get back comfortable once I lay back down.  My energy level is being tested between still working and being home with the kids on my days off, I contribute it to the swelling and my bigger belly making me more tired.  I really am trying to enjoy these last few weeks of my LAST pregnancy and the time I have with just Rylie and Liam before our world changes.  Rylie is getting excited and asks when her baby brother is coming, while I'm not sure Liam realizes he won't be the baby of the family anymore.  We are trying to spend as much time with the kids together and individually before their brother arrives, and I think it's important to give each one of the kids their own special time with us.

Two weeks ago I went to labor and delivery for contractions that were stronger than the ones I had been having.  After some fluids, the contractions subsided and my doctor told me to behave myself because he was going out of town for spring break.  My doctor is part of a large OB group, but he has been my doctor since I was 7 months pregnant with Rylie, he delivered Liam, and is planning to deliver this baby(if he is in town).  I go see him next Friday, which will put me at 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant, hopefully will have more of an idea when he thinks the baby might come.  Rylie has stuff with dance coming up around my delivery date, and I'm trying to make sure I can be there for her and juggle the delivery of the baby.  My husband thinks I'm crazy for trying to "plan" when I will deliver, but I will try my best!!!!

This weekend my Mom, my cousin Ali and my mom's friend Susie are throwing a baby shower for the baby and I.  I'm excited for an afternoon with family and friends to celebrate our baby boy.  After the baby shower, I will be in a hurry to make sure everything is ready for the baby and for the kids while I'm at the hospital.  I can't wait to meet and hold our boy!!!
I also have to throw out some thank yous for some baby gifts we have already received.  My parents got us the playpen/bassinet for the baby that will be in our room until he is ready to join his big brother in their room.  I'm excited to get it all set-up for him.
My grandma Baecker and Uncle Charlie and Aunt Charlotte sent money for our baby boy.  Right now we are saving it to see what the baby needs.  My friend Katy from Phoenix is a huge Notre Dame fan(maybe more than my husband and brother-in-law, which is next to impossible). She sent us a Notre Dame outfit and football for our little guy.  It is definitely my husband's favorite baby gift so far, and we will be a family decked out in Notre Dame wear for the whole season!

We are extremely grateful and blessed for these gifts!!!

So that's the latest update on our baby!! I hope the next few weeks go by fast, it doesn't get any hotter, and our baby doesn't throw us any surprises!!

Easter Fun

After a busy day with the kid's birthday party yesterday, we had a pretty low-key Easter.  Last night after we put Liam down, Rylie and I dyed Easter eggs.  She loved watching the eggs turn colors, and doing as much of the task herself, my big girl!!!

~Liam threw the eggs like baseballs!!!

Rylie woke us up this morning, excited about her Easter basket, all ready to hunt for eggs.  Liam was excited about his basket too, but he was less unsure of the egg hunting part.

We had a nice relaxing day just the four of us, with my hubby making dinner for us.

Our First Born Turns 5!!!!!

It's hard to believe that today five years ago, I became a mom for the first time.  Some details of that day have been forgotten, but I will never forget the feeling I had holding Rylie for the first time.  I had felt like I had won the world, and now my whole world was in my arms.

Today we celebrated Rylie's birthday with a party in the park with our families.  I also broke my number one mommy rule by celebrating Rylie and Liam's birthdays together since his is next Saturday, and I am almost nine months pregnant.  We had a bouncing house, they each had their own cakes, and luckily Rylie didn't mind sharing her special day with Liam.

It was a great party, celebrating our babies!!!

Changing It Up

So after an absence from blogging and thinking about it, I decided to change the name of my blog.  I wanted the blog name to represent something more personal, instead of it sounding like the name those reality chicks(yes I'm guilty of watching it).  So in case you didn't notice, my blog name changed to the "Blessed Mommy Diaries."

I chose the name because the blog is told from the point of view of  Me(the mommy), and I can pretty much bet my husband won't join the blog wagon anytime soon!!!! Also, as a mommy I feel very blessed to have been given these beautiful, wonderful children and to have the love a one amazing husband.  I am the blessed Mommy and wife for sure!!!

Once our third addition arrives, the blog will get another blog makeover and have some new aspects to it.  I can't wait to share!
~Everyday I count and I am thankful for these wonderful blessings!!!!!
